Subsea & Arctic Leak Detection

PetroleumETC is excited to announce the 2nd Subsea & Arctic Leak Detection Symposium! The event will be held in early October of 2010 and will build on the 2002 event founded and chaired by Dr. Scott. The Symposium will facilitate the exchange of information between oil & gas companies, regulators, service providers, students and researchers in the field of leak detection. SALDS will cover the challenges of leak detection in the subsea and arctic environments as well as, leak detection methods, which can function for the full wellstream gathering pipelines from subsea wells and within arctic developments. The goal of the Symposium is to inform attendees of the unique issues in leak detection found in a subsea and arctic environment and how to improve monitoring of these flowlines.

Topics Covered:

  • Unique Challenges in Subsea & Arctic Leak Detections:
    • Lack of Inlet Flowrates (Internal Detection)
    • Multiphase Flow (Internal Detection)
  • Subsea Flowline Monitoring
    • Inaccessible Subsea Flowlines (External Detection)
    • Subsea Currents (External Detection)
  • Arctic Flowline Monitoring
    • Inaccesible Due to Snow Cover in Winter (External Detection)
    • Flowlines are Difficult to Access Due to Summer Melt (External Detection)

Location:

The event will be held at the Hilton Houston North in Houston, TX on October 6-7, 2010
