Frac Completions
Completion Practices for Fracture Stimulated Wells
This class is designed with a focus on the special well completion considerations for
fracture stimulated wells. Protection of fresh water and prevention of annular gas
migration are critical issues for fracture stimulated wells. The course details work
done in this area and a review of cementing techniques. Design of casing/tubing for
the high pressures of fracture stimulation illustrated as are the special zonal isolation
methods that have emerged for multi-stage treatments in horizontal wells.
Frac Completions will provide students a technical overview taught by Dr. Shari Dunn-Norman
(Missouri University of Science & Technology)
